Objective: Actors from my home nation of Australia and my adopted home of Canada do pretty well for themselves in Hollywood. In fact, many of the big stars you see on the silver screen, assuming American accents, are often Aussies and Canucks undercover to such an extent that audiences just assume they're Americans themselves. Rather than create an unattainable 'all in' accolade, I have decided to selectively build a list of films featuring Aussies and Canucks pretending to be Americans. Some are well known, such as Aussies Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson (none of whom, incidentally, were actually born in Australia but identify as Australian anyway) and Canucks Michael J. Fox, John Candy, and Dan Aykroyd. Others, however, including Alice Eve, Seth Rogen, Sam Worthington, and Jay Baruschel, fly under the radar. Matches 1 to 20 out of 65 |
