Lord of the Rings - In truth, I barely made it through the first part, but by the middle of the second one (after the trees bit) I was so bored I couldn't watch any longer. I did try to watch a bit of the third one but by then the glory of the landscape had worn off and Wood's monotone facial expressions just annoyed me. By that time I didn't even care if he succeeded in getting rid of the damned ring or not.

Thank you, ChLady. I thought I was the only one.

But for Day 27 - A movie that you gave up on half way through:

I rented the VHS of The Seven Samurai years ago. It was 2 tapes long. The 1st tape was amazing and couldn't wait to see what happens next, but the 2nd tape was broken! I never got around to watching the 2nd half, but I'm sure I would love it.

EDIT: Just added it to my Netflix queue.

Breaking the Waves
I did plan to see it all, even though I could tell pretty fast in that I didn't like it. But then there was something about the camerawork that made me feel like I was going to throw up. So I had to break my rule of not walking out on a film.

Of course, it's a lot easier to make that decision when you don't have to pay for them. An existential choice ... I like it!!

I dunno. Something bad. I'll go with Slackers (2002). Read Ebert's zero star review for more info on this forgettable film.

what teeny-bop moron wrote these questions?!

FLehh ... I don't even know what that means! Why would I wish I hadn't done something that I did. It all adds to the soup that is ... Moi? Je ne regrette rien!

Yours truly

Day 28 - A movie that wish you hadn't seen:
Zaat
Possibly the worst film ever made.

Day 29 - A movie from your childhood:
The Living Desert
My first documentary, at age ten, made a tremendous impact on me.

day 29 - a movie from your childhood

The Nightmare Before Christmas was my favorite film from age 10 to about age 12. It then fell out of favor for me for a few years until I rediscovered it when I was about 18 until about 22. Since age 22, I now appreciate it more for its film technique than for its story, although I may rediscover it again in a few years. One never knows. Movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas are a mirror; it reminds you of how you have matured and allows you to reflect back on your thoughts and dreams.

Day 29 - a movie from your childhood

Disney's Cinderella. I was 8 or 9 and awakening to the promise of perfect romance. I could not, not, not understand why my hair didn't sway like the cartoon's leading lady. I just loved it all, not having yet learned how demeaning it was to women. It was probably also the first time I could fully appreciate the jokes, especially in the characters of Gus-Gus and Jacques the mice.

Day 30 - A movie with an actor who you would want to play you in a movie:

The Deer Hunter

Although he resembles me in almost no way, Christopher Walken nearly shares a birthday with me... he's four days younger.

I found this one the hardest to find an answer for. In the end, I'm going for Sex, Lies, and Videotape - James Spader. As with Larry's choice, he looks nothing like me (fortunately for him), but a bit of make-up and some decent acting might just get him there.

That's all from me. Thanks for joining in, folks, it's been fun.

Feel free to post other categories that you think should/could have been put in the list.
