day 18 - a movie that you wish you could see on TV

Almost anything by Laurel & Hardy would do for me. I'll pick Sons of the Desert.

Difficult one, and I can't think of any right now. Like BB said, "If I like it, I like it, if I don't, I don't."
I'll revisit this.

Highlander. Not so much hate, as don't like as much as I used to.

Either Kagemusha or Ran by Akira Kurosawa

A tie:
THE ROGUE SONG (1930) starring Laurel and Hardy.
THAT ROYLE GIRL (1925) starring W.C. Fields.

Two films with three of my favorite stars. These films are apparently lost, so I guess I won't be seeing them on TV or anywhere else.

That film "Strangers No More" which won the Best Documentary Short Subject award last night at the Oscars looked pretty good.

Well, I was going to go for Holiday Inn because it is sorely overlooked during the Xmas season and it isn't something they'd show here, but now I have to agree with this idea instead!

But if I can't repeat GH's idea, then how about the short documentary Making the Crooked Straight which is about Dr. Rick Hodes and his work in Ethiopia which, due to my previous job working with JDC, I got to witness first hand.

(Another documentary that involved my work with JDC is Aunt Rosie's Kitchen. I have a video copy of that one, at least.)

Well, out of a handful of favs I'm picking Fargo by those Coen boys. Probably as near perfect as you'll find.

The Fifth Element - I have to admit to a liking for Luc Besson films

The Coens came close, but BB already picked them...

Day 19 - I'll go with George Cukor, and one of his films that doesn't feature Hepburn - Gaslight. Thrillers weren't his specialty but this one is so amazing, it is a shame he didn't do many, many more!

Day 20 - A movie that makes you angry:

What Just Happened

DeNiro, Penn, Willis, Keener, Tucci, directed by Barry Levinson -- such wasted potential.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - Oh dear. A poor interpretation of something that was so good. This could, and should, have been so much better.

Gladiator - this movie is completely infuriating - not only is it absolutely and totally inaccurate, but people fell for it anyway.
