Some S films, including one where the stigmatized Patricia Arquette lives in Pittsburgh. |

Lemmy in for #904.
In 1967 seven Swedish directors did an omnibus film called Stimulantia (Stimulants). The few people who saw it fell asleep. |

I remember when we broke up the first time Saying this is it, I've had enough, 'cause like We haven't seen each other in a month When you, said you, needed space, what?
We are never ever ever getting back together We are never ever ever getting back together You go talk to your friends talk To my friends talk to me But we are never ever ever ever getting back together
Like ever...
So here are my movie Cliff notes: a) Bob Ross: The Happy Painter: presents a behind-the-scenes look at the beloved public television personality's journey from humble beginnings to an American pop-culture idol. Reveals the public and private sides of Bob Ross through loving accounts from close friends and family, childhood photographs and rare archival footage. His PBS show introduced millions to his laid back, Zen-like technique of painting. b) How To Survive A Plague: The story of two coalitions - ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) - whose activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition. c) & d) Jack the Giant Slayer: The ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand fighting for a kingdom and the love of a princess, opens a gateway between the two worlds. e) The Thing: At an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between humans at the outpost and an alien entity. This was billed as a prequel to the classic 1982 John Carpenter helmed version of The Thing From Another World, starring Kurt Russell. Hehee. I've always had a thing for Kurt Russell's *thing*! :) |

Surreal genius.
Rivers and Tides: a docu on Andy Goldsworthy, who creates fascinating art using only found natural objects. Albert Lewin directs (Ava Gardner in) Pandora. There's a scene in Bunuel's film where the well-to-do guests dine while sitting on toilets. I guess that idea never really caught on...
P.S. Dr. Seuss wrote the screenplay for the Dr. T film, if that helps. |

The work of Jan Svankmajer
NB: The white rabbit in "Alice" is a stuffed specimen brought to life. In "Conspirators of Pleasure" assorted connected people play out their sexual perversions behind closed doors. "Lunacy" features short interludes between each scene where lumps of meat and bones frolic to jaunty piano music. |

There this hit restaurant chain in Taiwan though. http://www.ratestogo.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/modern-toilet-collage.jpg
With all the young people in the image, it looks like quite an, uh, commode-dating establishment?
