Four Your Consideration - Treasure Hunt
Seán Sez: OK, so here's the thing...

--> Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list.
--> Do not use reviews from the previous round - you must change them every round.
--> Post here to declare that you've done it. Sooner is better than later.
--> Provide a spoiler warning in your post when appropriate.
--> You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants.
--> The next round starts on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 p.m. FWFR time, whichever comes next.

It's getting late...
Have you seen my mates
Ma tell me when the boys get here
It's seven o'clock and I want to rock
Want to get a belly full of beer

So here are my notes:
a) Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close: A nine-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist {Thomas Horn} searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father {Tom Hanks), who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
b) The Hunger Games: Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen {Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match
c) The Lincoln Lawyer: A sleazy defense attorney {Matthew McConaughey} has a crisis of conscience when he represents a wealthy client (Ryan Phillippe) who has a foolproof plan to beat the system.
d) Love Affair: Ex-football star Mike Gambril (Warren Beatty) meets Terry McKay (Annette Bening) on a flight to Sydney, which is forced to land on a small atoll. Both engaged to others, they become romantic on board the ship sent to take the passengers home. They agree to meet in New York three months later to see if the attraction is real. One shows up, the other doesn't, but they run into each other afterwards. Remake of 1957's An Affair to Remember.
e) We Need To Talk About Kevin: Kevin's mother (Tilda Swinton) struggles to love her strange child, despite the increasingly vicious things he says and does as he grows up. But Kevin (Ezra Miller) is just getting started, and his final act will be beyond anything anyone imagined. AKA How to raise a spree killer.

Full of Eastern promise

N.B.
In Ozu's comedy "Good Morning" a group of children hold a repeated fart competition.
In the stunning animation "Grave of the Fireflies" two orphaned children struggle to survive after the firebombing of Tokyo.
In "The Isle" an obsessive and darkly masochistic love affair between the owner of rented floating cabins and one of her guests gets out of hand.
A former secret serviceman, now pawnbroker, has to save a little girl from a criminal gang in "The Man From Nowhere".
In "Poetry" a woman diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease takes up a poetry class.

005

FYI:
Green Light: Errol Flynn is a doctor whose career is ruined when he takes the blame for another's mistake.
Arizona Dream: Vincent Gallo's character has a funny bit in which he acts out the famous cropduster scene from North by Northwest.
Living Daylights: James Bond and his romantic interest go for a ride down a mountain on a cello case.
Earth Girls are Easy: A furry alien trio visit a hair salon from which they miraculously emerge as sexy 80s men.

Spoiler (here and in the review) for Butterfly on a Wheel: Gerard Butler's character's ordeal turns out to be retribution for his own wrongdoing.

When Ksenia Solo's character finds out that she doesn't have the lead, she is upset and behaves despicably.

The dolphin gets an artificial tail for its stump.

The Inbetweeners, led by Simon Bird's character, go on holiday to Greece.

Pi is at sea for a long time.

I should've known that it had already been used (and that I'd already voted for yours). I appreciate the vote, along with the 4 others.

One of my absolute faves from this round is Demonic's for Grave of the Fireflies. Brilliant.
