What's up? Docs.
NB: "Under African Skies" tells the story of the making of Paul Simon's "Graceland" album in South Africa. "The Imposter" is the astonishing story of conman Frederic Bourdin who pretends to be missing American teenager Nicholas Barclay. Wondrous documentary "Nostalgia For the Light" is shot entirely in Chile's Atacama Desert - the driest place on earth - and also the site of Pinochet's largest death camp. The "disappeared" were buried somewhere in the desert, and their wives, sisters and mothers continue to search for their remains. "Endurance" is, appropriately, about Olympic 10'000m champion Haile Gebrselassie. |

Monsters and Martians
Note: Thirty Seconds over Tokyo dramatizes the Doolittle Raid, the American retaliation for Pearl Harbor. The film follows the pilots of the bomber 'The Ruptured Duck'.

Thanx, Baffy. As you may have grokked from my piece, he was very important to my formative years. |
