Sometimes you're in ...
Legend: a) A study of chimps, without Sigourney Weaver machoing it up all over the place like in Gorillas in the Mist. b) Days of Our Lives is a popular TV soap opera in the US c) Matthew McConaughey plays Dallas. d) Have you SEEN pictures of Joe Manganiello, who plays Big Dick Richie, in this film?? Not only does he play the werewolf, Alcide, in True Blood, he's BURLY!!! e) Jeff Bridges, who played The Dude in The Big Lebowski, voices Zeke, also called The Big Z, who is NOT dead, despite his efforts to appear that way. |

Welcome back, Baffy.
One of the meanings of my review of We Need to Talk About Kevin is potentially a spoiler.
Cell 211 is about a prison officer caught up in a riot on the day he starts work. He pretends to be an inmate to survive, & then comes to believe in the rioters' cause & fights alongside them against the authorities.
Police, Adjective pushes the police procedural form to almost surreal limits. Its a satire of the post-Ceausescu state apparatus featuring protracted periods of surveillance, stultifying bureaucracy & strange ethical & linguistic debates.

70s Thrillers
NB: Robert Towne wrote the screenplay for "Chinatown". "The Cassandra Crossing" is a disaster movie set on a train. In "The Parallax View" Warren Beatty plays journalist Joseph Frady, investigating a secret corporation who recruit political assassins. Clint Eastwood plays assassin Jonathan Hemlock in "The Eiger Sanction". |

Lemmy in for #832.
Canada Day weekend, eh? Five films from the Great White North.
I was unable to vote last round so there will be five votes for each participant in #831.
