Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....

The Rules

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person. However, you may edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, unless you are the moderator ... then you'll lose your computer. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the worthless piece of spent jet trash that you've secretly feared you might be.

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!

In fact, it will be a lurker vote.

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:

3 pts fwfr a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------

You may vote only once.
You cannot vote for yourself.
You can vote for the previous winner.
You cannot vote for George W. Bush. Ever.

You vote by sending mguyx your votes in a PM (Private Message) HERE, to Me.

I have no idea when the deadline for voting is - presume someone will jump in with an answer!

Was sure sludge had this week sown up - sorry mate, i feel that entry deserved a win!

No matter, I like winning

This was a tight one until the end, sort of. Our winner had a near mathematical certainty until the second to the last voter, then there were varying 2d and 3d place finish possibilities.

BIFE! (33221)

CONGRATULATIONS AND YET ANOTHER WIN BIFEY!!!

The NEXT Haiku contest does not start until MONDAY, because we are trying to get the contest voting schedule back to the ususal Wednesday. SO our illustrious winner can post the new film ON MONDAY if he's around (our bife is an honest man: he truly works for a living, unlike the rest of us slackers, so he is understandably busy); but if he is not, he has revealed to me through signs and divinations his choice. So come hell or high water, we will being the quest anew on Monday.

WOW! What a voting session! I'm looking at the preliminary results, and it's a SEVEN-WAY TIE so far!!!

(Oops: forgot to count the votes. Oh. Okay, it's not a seven-way tie any more.

Two voters outstanding.)

The men of Sparta
(three hundred) take apart a
million Persians.

oh, and I've voted.
Montgomery Posted - 01/08/2010 : 17:47:56

MguyXXV Posted - 01/06/2010 : 15:37:46

I trapped my votes between a rock and hard place.

Arrows block the sun.
Shields as umbrellas. Still
Spartans become sparse.

BaftaBaby Posted - 01/04/2010 : 16:32:52
Spartans never knew
that one day those Persian boys
would come from Iran.

bife Posted - 01/04/2010 : 16:29:30
Taut bodies grappling,
600 oiled, naked tits;
Shame they were all men

And yes, 'oiled' is read as one syllable!

It would be nice to get more entries.
