Dear MERPs, perhaps this can be a thread where people point out reviews that they have altered in the hope that the revised review gets reapproved quickly.

I changed my "Bugsy Malone" review from "Mobsters just get desert" to "Mobsters just get deserts"; the plural deserts is more accurate and makes the aphorism scramble more accurate as well.

Please reapprove it. Thank you.

I don't really think that's it as I usually add notes anyway and, while I think all of them are fine, one of them straightforwardly, unambiguously and uniquely describes the film (just being a case of alliteration) so there honestly isn't any reason to have skipped over it. Even if that is what happens, it seems that reviews are then lost from sight and languish indefinitely. Instead, they should then be at the top of any other MERP's view. I'm just talking about first-pass reviews. I haven't even bothered to resubmit any rejections for years due to this situation.

I think they are, but sometimes reviews that aren't an obvious or easy "pass" or "decline" get skipped over for another MERP to have a look at, or as in the case of a resubbed decline, for Benj's approval. When a review is skipped I always add an explanation to the submission to help it on its way, which often works.

Only February? You're lucky. I've got first-pass pending reviews going back every month from then to November. In all cases I think I submitted other reviews for the same films which were quickly approved. It always seems to have been like this. I don't get how the system is configured such that reviews can't just be methodically processed in order.

I'm summoning this thread back from long retirement to ask any friendly MERPs operating about my long pending review for "Deadpool", which has been passed over every time I have had any reviews approved since the end of February. It's not exactly my best work, I know, but with an explanation attached I'm not sure why it has been ignored for so long. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thanks so much.

Friendly MERP-ers,

There's some confusion over my recent submission for Tarkovsky's "Stalker", which was declined asking for more information, which I provided but met another decline with multiple question marks.

I've discovered that the space in the explanations box is limited, so I'm going to re-sub and include a more thorough explanation here in the hope that I can make it make sense.

My review is directly addresses that Tarkovsky's film seems to predict the Chernobyl disaster which happened seven years later, something written about extensively in many critiques and investigations (and most modern reviews) of the film. The "Zone" of the film echoes the "exclusion zone" which was established following the disaster, and the military controlled area devoid of living creatures suggests some kind of environmental catastrophe. Weirder, in the film the character of the Writer speculates about what happened in the Zone, and mentions the 4th bunker breaking down. At Chernobyl it was the 4th reactor which exploded.

Lots more on this coincidence here: https://people.ucalgary.ca/~tstronds/nostalghia.com/TheTopics/Stalker/sharun.html

Edit: Thank yooooou.

Dear MERPs,

I had penned down two reviews, one on January 13th and the other on 19th Jaunary and the reviews are still Pending. Kindly approve them so that I'll have something new on my FYC for #1000, or at least decline them so that I could revise my reviews.

Hi MERPS,
thanks for approving my review for "The tree Of Life"

"Pitt adjusts table, manners"

just resubbed it replacing "adjusts" with "repositions" which is semantically more accurate.

When you get a chance.

Edit: Muchos Gracias.

Hi speedy MERPs of greatness, I just made a minor adjustment to my review for "Colombiana" - I'd set the film in Columbia not Colombia... an easy mistake to make. Thanks in advance.

(terrible, terrible film by the way)

Ooh, I didn't remember this thread existed! I just resubmitted a really old "Titanic" review to tighten up a pun that included the word "Jettison" to "Jetsam," which is the more accurate description. Could a kindly MERP have a look see and reapprove? TIA

Ooh, another one for the kindly Merps of Speed... just resubbed my review for "Endurance" which was approved a couple of days ago - I hadn't noticed I'd added an extra "s" which messed up the tense. Thank you!
