I have this scene from a movie in my head, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what its from. Help!

In the scene, an adult introduces a little girl to a little boy. The girl tells the boy her name and asks what his name is. He's embarrassed and won't tell. The adult says something to the effect of, "Come on now, be polite" to the boy. The boy gives in and says his name under his breath, "Alawishus." The girl yells, "ALAWISHUS!!!???" and giggles hysterically and the boy becomes upset.

Is this familiar to anyone else? Its driving me nuts!

It's spelled Aloisius, for the record.

It's Aloysius in fact. It's Snuffy's name in Sesame Street and most famously the teddy bear in Brideshead Revisited. I don't know the film though.

The only remotely connected Aloysius I can think of is when one of The Little Rascals meets a kid of that name. But it's been a while and I can't remember all the details

I'm not sure, but here are the results for a character search for the name Aloysius on IMDB.

Wait a minute... it was Ron Howard playing the part of Winthrop Paroo in "Music Man" and it wasn't the name Aloysius he said, but rather the name Amaryllis, which was the little girl he liked. But he was embarassed to say her name because of his lisp. I went over to IMDb to confim it and I was right. Here's the quote from there:

Amaryllis: I'm having a party on saturday. I'd like it if you could come.
Mrs. Paroo: Well, Amaryllis asked you to her party. Are you going or not?
Winthrop Paroo: No
Mrs. Paroo: No what?
Winthrop Paroo: No, thank you.
Mrs. Paroo: You know her name.
Winthrop Paroo: No, thank you, AMARYLLITH!
Amaryllis: Amaryllith! Amaryllith!

I knew it sounded familiar!

(Now, what do I win?)

Yes that's it! Thanks ChocolateLady! I loved that movie when I was a kid! I think I ought to rent it again on Netflix and get the Wells Fargo Wagon to deliver it!
