Well Herky, that would be from 'The Dead Pool', the final installment of the Dirty Harry flicks.
Harry Callahan poses as a tv news cameraman, alongside an anchorwoman played by Patricia Clarkson, in order to get close to a crazed, suicidal man holding a flare, who douses himself in gasoline in order to kill himself on film for all to see.
I'll refrain from using spoilers for anybody hoping to catch this flick via Netflix' 'watch instantly' feature, which I'm currently taking advantage of... I just had to know if this was the film I was thinking of, and it was. Decent scene, average Dirty Harry. Patricia Clarkson never disappoints, though...
Gotta run, love glimpsing the future in old movies like this one. Nobody knew Liam Neeson at the time this was shot, and Jim Carrey's limited role actually utilized the range that would later make him famous. I'll post another quote tomorrow... |
