He was Dr. Irving Finegarten, and very good - you're right!

I've seen S.O.B multiple times, but it's been years since. Still, the image of Preston in that horrible ascot popped right into my head as soon as I read the quote! |

You got it, B.B.! Lots of great lines in that film, but most would be dead giveaways. I thought the one I chose would be more of a stumper... (Maybe I should stop using baseball movies.)
You're up! |

Okay - here's a mother-son dialogue to tempt you:
Mom, are we in Arizona yet? If you ask me that one more time, I'm gonna beat you to death. Just sit back there and relax and enjoy life, huh? Life is short. So are you.

Oh oh. It's the one with Paul Newman... he's a lawyer, kind of an old washed up lawyer. He's trying a civil suit for a wrongful death. Um....The Verdict? |

Thank you ever so kindly!! It helps that I happened to catch this not long ago, on A(r)MC (All reruns Movie Classics).
What actor said the following, in what film:
We are fugitives of the law. Idiocy is our only option.

That was from Dustin Hoffman in Outbreak - by far my favorite airborne Ebola virus movie.
Try this one:
