Any suggestions? It needs to have a large lawn (not that that should be too restrictive).

I don't think Gosford Park would do, but I'll check out the others. I have a specific requirement that I don't want to give away as it would spoil the review. Thanks.

I suppose Mrs Brown could be classed as a comedy of manners.

And, of course, there's a stately home of sorts in The Importance of Being Earnest.

Would a Shakespeare comedy work?

Branagh's Much Ado about Nothing is set in a stately manor with lawns and gardens.

Thanks for the further suggestions. Yes, anything that is at least theoretically funny would be fine. I'll see if I can see some stills of that one.

Relative Values works very well.

Certainly any of the Jane Austin adaptations have stately homes and there's no small amount of comedy in most of them.

Easy Money
Heaven can Wait (the one with Warren Beatty)
Beverley Hillbillies
Dallas
Fletch Lives
Clue
American Beauty (maybe not a super staely manor - but certainly groomed lawns)
All of Me
The Jerk
Forrest Gump (not sure if its wholly a comedy)
Adams Family
Death Becomes Her
Witches of Eastwick
Splitting Heirs
Monster-in-Law
Big Lebowski
Batman Returns
Meet the Robinsons
War of the Roses

The challenge is can you come up with a review that doesn't come off as generic - this list took about 2 minutes to compose.

Genericism probably won't be a problem. It can be any old comedy, but not any old stately home. (But if there are too many then I'll just make it an accolade instead.) Thanks for the suggestions.

Did anyone mention It's A Wonderful Live? While there aren't much in the way of lawns, the home certainly is stately.

Yes! I totally forgot that one.

(Too bad Gone with the Wind wasn't a comedy - you can't get more stately than Tara!)
