When one flags a film and then hits 'Refresh', the film becomes deflagged (on Camino on a Mac). N.B. This has always been the case. |

Benj, I often get this message
Invalid image file format- must be jpg or gif
when updating an accolade, even though I have not changed the image. |

Is this still on this 'Camino' browser doohickey or something else? |

Just for reference, I assume the same applies to scoring a film? |

Any chance of fixing the "Number of reviews with 40+ votes" stat please?
Mine reads 6 whereas I only have 3.

Probably, although I'm on Safari at the moment - cannot remember which it was earlier - I'll do a test.
Test done: The same happens on Safari. |

No, that works fine (although it is often difficult to get the score to 'take' in the first place). |

Isn't that a good thing? |

Oh, yes -- that's always happening to me ... in fact, sometimes if I click a score for one film, it appears on a completely different film - either one I haven't yet scored, or it changes the score of one I'd scored earlier. Maddening!
My other big niggle is that if I try to insert a smiley after a specific word, it jumps to the end of my post and I have to cut and paste where I wanted it. It's ok if you know you want a smiley as you're typing, but sometimes you want to add one after your message is already typed. If you see what I mean.
Sorry to add to the work pile.

Yes, the smiley thing is so annoying! I'm always having to copy and paste them. |

Um... as far as I can see, that's impossible. Can you be certain that clicking on this film's score changer is what's changed the score of a previous film?
Also, and I know this is turning into the default question, but... which browser are you using? |

OMG -- I've achieved the impossible --- and on a Firefox browser, too!!! you're very welcome to come down for a glitch-visit, benj, to see for yourself the wonder that is the magic of the score-awarder/changer. But, I understand your suspicion since the glitch doesn't always appear... like the invisible man - it comes and goes. So what else could it be? If I can fix it at my end - I'll be very glad to.
But the adding the smiley thing - that's 100%. TIA for wise words.

Not really, although it is better than the other way around I suppose...

It could be some weird caching problem- I've seen a lot odder stuff than this down to caching, certainly.
For the problem to genuinely be down to one film page changing the scoring for another film entirely, the wrong film id would need to be written into the page and then transmitted off to the server when the scorer is clicked on- this simply isn't possible. I know my code is far from perfect, but this is nothing more than outputting a number to the page- not even I can mess that up!

I've never really looked into this too much since the fourum code isn't mine and therefore can be somewhat of a headache. I'll have a check to see if the original developer has fixed this issue. |

Ah - I think I just spotted a clue. You're talking about individual film pages. I tend to award scores on my list of films approved, or films pending approval. So it may be that I rush down the list too quickly. Could that be something to do with it? Clearly, that's how I know one try to award a score affects another film, because I see it in front of my eyes. e.g. I click on the 5 box of Casablanca which is two films under Saw IV, and it's the latter that gets the 5-er ... whether or not there was already a score there. Then again, sometimes it all works perfectly.
Would you suggest that we only add scores on the actual film page? I'm happy to do that - but, of course, if there's an easy fix to the other way, that would be sublime.
Big TIA!
