Wait - I've got one!
Steve Martin - he hasn't done anything good since Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and if we thought he hit rock bottom with Father of the Bride and having the gaul to also remake Father's Little Dividend as Father of the Bride II, he made it even worse by remaking Cheaper by the Dozen and then added insult to injury by putting out a sequel to that. But beyond a doubt, his worst remake attempt was The Pink Panther and now I see he hasn't learned his lesson and is doing a second one of those!

I've added all of those for now. I'm sure I will slowly think of others over time. I am sure there are many cases of someone being great in their first film and then disappointing afterwards.
When did Harrison Ford last have a good film?
And was Sean Connery ever any good in anything? |

It's been decades since I've seen it, but I seem to recall he wasn't half-bad in A Fine Madness, and he wasn't too terrible in Robin an Marian, and had a definite charm in Cuba.

While The Rock was also okay, I'd say his last really good film was probably The Name of the Rose. But his big slump started either with his last Bond outing in Never Say Never Again, and if not that, then certainly Sword of the Valiant.

I'd be tempted to say later than that. Anything Indy Jones is just flawless (IMO anyhow), so that moves us up to 1989, plus the Jack Ryan films and The Fugitive I thought were great.
That gives us Sabrina in 1995. |

| I hardly think that "Bond Girls Are Forever" belongs in an accolade that otherwise includes only official Bond films. Not even "Never Say Never Again" or the original "Casino Royale" are in the "Meister Bond" accolade, so I don't really understand why this TV special has been added to it. |

| I have decided to amend this accolade (please see from the previous page onwards) because I felt it would work better with good films than bad. So the criterion now is that each film is the last one in the mainly good early part of an actor's career. Anomalous early bad or late good films are O.K., but the films here should each be the last one before the drop in general quality. |

I'm going to suggest Tom Cruise in Jerry McGuire. Everything after that has been totally down hill, if you ask me. Sure Vanilla Sky was considered to be good, as was Magnolia, but for me, I haven't been able to watch him since he did Jerry.
(I was going to suggest Jim Carrey's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind but he really does know how to run hot and cold - one good then several poor movies, then back with a good one again. So I can't pinpoint a real downfall for him, since he keeps finding something to pick himself up with.)

I'd suggest Magnolia should replace Jerry Maguire. It is widely regarded to be a better, if not his best, performance. Also I can't stand Jerry Maguire.
Also, I'd agree with previous posts The Fugitive was a decent performance by Ford, but definitely his last. |
