Its interesting to see movies that will never travel as they are purely for the local market. A particular area of interest for me is Japan. Along with the usual international smashes ( Frozen ) one of the popular movies is "Romae Thermae 2"

So, what is all about, you might ask. Its all about a Bath Engineer in ancient Rome ( some pretty neat CG work, i might venture ). For reasons only known in movies he travels to modern day Japan and pinches ideas such as Bidets and Bubbles to take back to Rome. He is a hit with the Emperor. There is also a modern day girlie who admires his torso..er, his fine ambitions ( He seems to be in the nude a lot and theres lots of Austin powers moments where random objects cover his whatnot! )

Add in a chorus of comedy pensioners and you have a fairly lively ( if somewhat unsubtle ) comedy that turns into a nice Feel-Good Movie emphasing team work.

The lead actor is presumably chosen for his body and somewhat western features. He acts like he has a rod up his toga and is a fine addition to the wooden school ( of which a few Hollywood toga wearers are members )

Thinking about it theres probably a bit of local meaning for the tradition of bathing in Bath houses and Hot Springs. Theres a bit more involved than just jumping into a Hot Tub. Which is why there will probably not be a western remake with a Zac Efron type in the lead. There just isnt the social aspect in the west or its another vibe ( usually Hot Tub movies are excuses for sex gags and nudity in the west )

Anyway, the movie is on the usual websites but i think we arent alloed to link.
