Trailer is good isn't it? I've been rather put off by the lukewarm reviews, but I may well catch it. There's is very little of interest opening in NY this week. |

Well, it is a bit meh - especially compared with the Danny Kaye version. But neither has, imho, captured the wit of Thurber's original tale. A good read!

Not seen the Danny Kaye version but this film was enjoyable and heart-warming enough I thought.
I do take umbridge with some reviewers comparing it with Forrest Gump however. Whilst they're both uplifting films, the scale of the two films really don't compare- Gump was an epic romp through recent US history whereas Mitty seemed more like a long damp weekend in Greenland. |

Gump/Mitty about as similar as rocks and socks!
If you want heart-warming, though - you could do worse than Dan Hartley's Lad: A Yorkshire Story - which seems to have been inexplicably overlooked by the BAFTA bunch. Hey ho!
