Today is the final day of filming on the Hobbit trilogy. This scene was shot this morning (taken from Peter Jackson's FB profile). Prior to shooting on green screen, some high-contrast characters (nothing could be better than a penguin or two!) move around with shiny objects to test the camera/lighting settings are correct for when the real characters appear on set to do the actual scene.

Anyone who's watched the 20+ hours of extras on the LOTR Extended Cut 12 DVD set knows that a movie project of this scale can only be achieved through relentless persistence.
