Scuse me - is this the love train?
Time-table Madison County's director's name is one of the four British countries.
As they say - if the footwear fits ...
I think the rest of 'em are clear.

New and newish.
Notes: Artist James Mason is inspired by underage Helen Mirren. Two films by Charlie Chaplin: in one he wears a tree disguise and in the other he and his dog elude the cops. Danny Kaye is a fraud selling a cure-all elixir.

Some animated reviewing
NB: In "Tekkonkinkreet" the two protagonists are called Black and White. "Paprika" was an inspiration for Christopher Nolan's "Inception" - where the title character is crime solving dream manipulator. John Sutherland provides one of the voices for the title character in "Bambi". |

And the hits just keep on coming!!!
So here are my movie Cliff notes: a) Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked: Playing around while aboard a cruise ship, the Chipmunks and Chipettes accidentally go overboard and end up marooned in a tropical paradise. This is the 3rd in the Chipmunk series, the second of which was called a Squeakquel. It's kind of a combination of the 2nd film and a Tom Hanks vehicle. Personally, I'm a sucker for those Chipmunk movies. b) Contagion: A thriller centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak, which is spread quickly by nearly casual social contact. Patient zero happens to be Gwyneth Paltrow, so it's safe to say Gwyneth Paltrow destroyed humanity. c) The Descendants: A land baron tries to re-connect with his two daughters after his wife is seriously injured in a boating accident. This is a decent sort of movie, I rather liked it, though I do find it a huge stretch of the imagination that ANYONE could possibly cheat on the likes of George Clooney with the likes of Matthew Lillard. And I like Matthew Lillard. d) Oz: The Great And Powerful: Circus magician Oscar Diggs thinks he's hit the jackpot as he's transported to the Land of Oz, but his encounters with three witches and the problems facing Oz's inhabitants encourage him to become the great wizard they've been expecting. This film really messes with my view of how the world as we know it should be. The Wizard of Oz is sacrosanct to me. This film really needs Ian McKellan at the intro, shouting "You shall not pass!!!" e) Silver Linings Playbook: This well-accorded film stars Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany. She and Bradley Cooper team up for a dance competition in it.

No one ever really mentions Buñuel's book adaptations (Brontë, Dafoe, Maupassant), his other stuff massivly overshadows it.
