Benj, how about including a box for searching for certain text on this site, i.e. of the type that lots of sites have (often a Google plug-in, not that I know whether that it was plug-in actually means)? It would be good for those of use who are more ethical and check whether an idea has already been used in any review. It could either be integrated into the current search facility or be a separate thing.

O.K., I was just guessing what plug-in meant, so ignore that vocabulary.

What I meant was that those little in-site search boxes are often powered by Google &c., presumably because most people find it easier than programming a search tool for themselves. However, I expect that you would be able to do that relatively easily.

I just mean a little box that searches for the given string of text anywhere on the site. Personally, I'd favour this being integrated with the current search facility for cleanliness.

One possibility is that the advanced search options include 'Review Includes...', 'Accolade Title/Description Includes...' and 'Fourum Text Includes...' I'd suggest that, regardless, all the advanced search options be included on one page. It would save clicking through and, more importantly, it would mean that searches could be combined, e.g. for a film including the word Fire featuring an actor named Michael.

However, that would be complicated, as certain text on the site would have to be excluded or covered by a 'General' search. Therefore, I'd actually say make the whole thing general. When people write directly in the search box on any page, have it search for those words anywhere. Then, display the results with the films first (which would also be the only results shown in preview while typing), then the actors, then the accolades, then the reviews, then the users, then the Fourum posts, then anythingh else (or whatever order you prefer). There would still be the advanced page for doing the current more complicated searches or the combined ones I've suggested. The search would need to be able to utilise quotation marks in the way of Google in order to make it more efficient, as the exact order of the words is often important in review and Fourum searches.

Not sure what you mean by this plug-in idea, but I'm currently working on the review search code.
