I would like to know if there's ever been a snobs vs. slobs movie where we're rooting for the snobs.

Has such a movie ever been made? Could such a movie be made? Are there pro-snobs movies out there?

Thanks.

The Scarlet Pimpernel

Of course it helps when the slobs are foreigners so the Us/Them balance is altered.

Dan Ackroyd in the latter half of Trading Places.

Plus any where the snobs are having to live as slobs and fight their way back up, such as films about Anastasia, The Man in the Iron Mask, lots of Dickens, Sense and Sensibility etc.

Marie-Antoinette? And any similar ones such as The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Guess it depends on your def of snobs - or slobs, come to that. A priori they demean whomever they consider beneath them. But, on reflection, you might say lots of fairytales fit the bill.

In Cinderella, for example, you root for Prince Charming over the stepmom and step-sisters.

Good question!
