I always like to use up all 20 of my submission slots, and I often end up realizing on a Sunday night that I need to do some submitting. I was under the impression that FWFR time is currently 2 hours later than London time, so I've been submitting reviews up til 2am on Mondays for that week's submissions. Last Sunday I did just that - submitted most of my lot probably between 12am and 2. But I've just seen now that their submission dates say Monday 3rd! I was obviously too late and as a result have now used up all my slots for this week!
So I've lost 12 submissions slots, which is obviously a bit annoying. Could you please confirm the exact time of FWFR so I don't do it again? (Maybe relative to another online clock in case it's just that my laptop clock is out of sync?)
cheers

This happens to me sometimes too -- in the most extreme cases, I have submitted nonsense for films I want to review and then changed it to something proper after midnight. |

Aw thanks
Sometimes a few seconds actually makes a difference - there have been times I've left my submitting so late that I'm actually racing the clock!

When G.M.T. changed to B.S.T., F.W.F.R. time became two hours different to U.K. time, so it seems pretty likely that Benj changed it by an hour in the wrong direction. It didn't happen at the time when the server was changed. |

Posted - 08/06/2009 : 09:07:51 Very occasionally fwfr time goes slightly out of synch with UK time. I go by Radio 4's timechecks on the Today Programme. benj changed servers a while ago, so that may have something to do with it. The new server's based in the US, in the Mountain Time Zone I believe. Not all servers allow direct access to change things like time/date, and benj is a very busy boy so may not have put it as a priority request. Also, benj - who is a BRILLIANT coder - didn't write the Snitz 4um code - and some 4UMs don't provide absolute flexibility.
But it's been working almost okay for a while now ... by almost I mean sometimes it is a few seconds out.
But Sal's right - a test post is a good idea!

Posted - 08/06/2009 : 00:48:36 F.W.F.R. time was synched with B.S.T. some time ago.
Although some people liked to pretend, somehow, that 'F.W.F.R. time' was neither the time displayed in Fourum posts nor the time associated with review submissions, these two times always seem to have been the same. |
