Let's get back to a time when a Teen Drama didn't include sucking blood from someone's neck. Back in 1985, John Hughes gave us this portrait of five stereotypes thrown together that everyone could find someone to identify with. Find the person you're most like and write a Haiku about:

The Breakfast Club

By the way, did anyone ever notice - there's no breakfast and that's no club!

~~~~~~
Abbreviated rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.
The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site. Give it a try if you never have--it's SO EASY!
To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. (Hint: read it out loud, ticking off the syllables with your fingers as you do so.)
Haikus may be risque, but not over the top, please, nor other exotic positions that would de-Classify this Classiest of contests.
Only one entry per person. However, you may edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time.
Voting
If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. It's required. If you enter but do not vote, you get a whopping 3 point penalty, and bye-bye championship.
You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be just like a lurker vote! And We Heart Lurkers.
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:
3 pts fwfr a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------
You may vote only once.
You may not vote for yourself.
You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) here. Vote deadline is Wed 29 Sept 9:00 AM fwfr time. Thanks for entering!
Wowza.
I'm just gonna comment on one thing about this film. I didn't find Judd Nelson all that convincing as a tough guy... or the faking it tough guy. But he won me over in "Fandango" which I saw much later. And if memory serves, he did a good job in New Jack City. If you haven't seen Fandango, I recommend it.
I will be back with Haiku 224 a little later.
I guess detention kept someone from voting.
Here are the test results.
Scoring a C with 8 correct answers (3,2,2,1) is...
Zeike!
With a good B average and 11 correct answers (3,2,2,2,2) is....
ME (ChocolateLady).
But our A student with a perfect grade of 12 (3,3,3,3) is none other than our valedictorian,
SLUDGE!
Bravo. Come up to the stage and collect your diploma and then find us another film to Haiku!
Too true!
(Now if Ben can get to the library to send in his votes, we can get out in time for lunch!)
I had to stay after school, so I didn't get my 'ku in. So I just lurked around a bit.
Had another cuppa Breakfast Blend and voted.
Please note - due to the Jewish holiday, the results may be delayed a touch.
But that doesn't mean you can't get your votes in early (thank you, clay)!
A terrible school.
Students spend more time running
than in detention.
Sludge Posted - 09/24/2010 : 00:48:50
Forget? Don't worry.
It's detention deficit
disorder. Leave it.
