First Blood (1982)
Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....
The Rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables. The second line has seven syllables. The third, and final, line has five syllables.
The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.
To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.
Only one entry per person. However, you may edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *
Voting.
If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, unless you are the moderator ... then you'll lose your computer. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the worthless piece of spent jet trash that you've secretly feared you might be.
You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!
In fact, it will be a lurker vote.
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:
3 pts fwfr a 2 pts fwfr b 1 pt fwfr c --------------------------------
You may vote only once. You cannot vote for yourself. You can vote for the previous winner. You cannot vote for George W. Bush. Ever.
You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) HERE, to Me.
When the voting deadline technically ends (9pm Wednesday 30DEC FWFR time), yours truly will tally the ho's and crown next week's champeen.
Rambo: There wouldn't be no trouble except for that king shit cop! All I wanted was something to eat. But the man kept pushing Sir.
Trautman: Well you did some pushing on your own John.
Rambo: They drew first blood, not me.
Trautman: Look Johnny, let me come in and get you the hell out of there!
Rambo: They drew first blood... |

Posted - 01/03/2010 : 21:24:05 Forgot I'd even entered At least I would have won even if I'd voted, so i don't feel as bad about forgetting.
Nevetheless, cannot help but think it was a "welcome back" tactical vote that gave me the win - especially if we are really down to only 3 entrants per week? Ouch.
Will be back with the next round shortly - hopefully we can get a couple more entrants |

Put that torch down awreddy! Just because I dumped you NEARLY TWO DECADES ago ... you still can't let it drift. And stop stalking me or I'm gonna reinvoke that police order. You're a sick man. SICK! It's none of yer biz if I like my bife rare. SICK!

Posted - 12/31/2009 : 03:33:37 This is why I hate tallying votes. Controversy!!!!
Forget the fan fare this week, because fur and lawsuits will be a flyin, so let's get straight to the facts.
THREE entrants this week, so there was already the possibility of a 3-way tie.
BaftaBabe came in with a lurker vote, which threatened to derail this week's drama. Making matters worse, she got TWO third place votes.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . So with an honorable/honourable mention, BAFTABABE! (11) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In second place, . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A two-way tie, SLUDGE (31) and MGUYX (22)! Does it matter how it's broken? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In first place . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . without even casting a vote! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . whose win is TAINTED by the well-known fact that he has been e-bonking BaftaBabe for 15 years, which accounts for her seriously suspicious vote (c'mon: voting even though she didn't enter? You all will be hearing from a LAWYER about this!
That having occurred, treat us with a new film Monsieur bife. |

Posted - 12/30/2009 : 07:09:49 Due to the expected complexity involved in tabulating this round's massive voting, I encourage all to get a move on.
Good news: everyone's going to be on the award stand this week. Bad news: This could be a 3-way tie!
LURKER VOTES ENCOURAGED!! |
