I totally agree, it was a surprisingly deep film with many a point to ponder. I've asked this before, but in the closing scene where they are waiting for the new baby to be born, did you notice the baby that belonged to Gil and Karen? Steve and Mary look very resigned and somewhat bittersweet, Karen chokes back a bit of a sob and then they briefly show the baby. I believe the baby was presented as having Down's Syndrome, which would follow the storyline about riding the rollercoaster and taking chances. |
