TONS better than I expected. The marketing missteps are enumerated in an otherwise tedious book by Michael Sellers, but what's left on the screen isn't bad at all. Sanctimonious fanboys scoffed at the "arena" sequence as derivative of AVATAR and particularly ATTACK OF THE CLONES, not understanding that Edgar Rice Burroughs WROTE THE SCENE A CENTURY BEFOREHAND -- it's THEY who are ripping HIM off!

I liked the Martians, LOVED Dejah Thoris, wish I could see more.
