I watch films later than most. Having sat thro this farrago, i wish i had waited a lot longer. Initially it looked promising even tho the premise was loopy - a lift thro the centre of the earth after a chemical war. Having said that the production designer made a decent fist of the world having read the rules of the future.

A-hem. The future is....
1. Pretty Rainy
2. Mostly Chinese looking

A bored looking Farrell had the charisma of a phone book while it didn't help that the two female actors looked too similar.

In flickers, it used the freedom of reverso-physics to effect. The 3 way lifts were cool. Other vthan that there was a lot of "where are we and who is doing what to whom?" about the action especially with the final sequence.

Emotionally unengaging it rapdly became action for it's own sake. At least the Arnie film was clearer in it's themes.
