One of the most odd premises for a science-fiction film I've seen lately is "Library Wars" from Japan. It's from an anime which supposes that repressive politicians start to garner votes by censoring what Books are acceptable. This leads to raids on Bookshops by the Army and killings. As a result a Library Militia is formed with the express aim of defending libraries. Here is the Trailer.

Of course there is a film with a very similar premise before you mention the temperature reference! However, it's a very bitter irony that at a time when local councils in my country are cutting library services that in some imagined future people would put their lives on the line to preserve them!
