I have watched the trailers for The Canyons (NSFW - language) and can't make heads or tails of them. Are they deliberately bad based on a belief that having the writers of American Psycho and Taxi Driver must have created such a masterpiece that it can afford to make fun of itself? Are they capitalizing on the recent success of retro films to see if the success of Django Unchained will rub off on them? Or are the trailers deliberately bad to draw attention away from a train wreck of a film?

Ohh, now I get it. It's crowdfunded. Yikes.
