TA:MOU = Themed Anniversary: Moving On Up

The Rules

Each Tuesday a theme will be decided based on the Anniversary of some significant event. All you have to do is trawl your reviews for any that relate to that event and post them here with a link.

You can post as many as you wish, so long as either the film or your review clearly relates to the theme. You can only post during the week of the current TA:MOU.

You don't have to say you voted unless you really want to - but you are expected to visit all the links posted.

ON THIS DAY: 26 February

TA:MOU offers two very different choices to challenge. Just pick one, please.

> in 1909 the Palace Theatre in London launched the first successful color motion picture process to the public. Please post your fwfrs for your favourite color films - one per decade - starting from your earliest year of release.

Please post your reviews for your toe-tapping collection of films set in or around record or other music stores; radio/t.v. disk jockey or music/dance related broadcasts; the Martian top ten

> in 1993 the World Trade Center in NYC was attacked by a truck bomb planted below the North Tower. It killed six people and injured over a thousand. It would be over 8 years before the building was attacked again.

Your fwrs please for films that concern man-made destruction of buildings. Anywhere, any time. For any reason.

So colourful or destructive. Go to!

Choosing one per decade is tough, but I think these films' colors might awe in a good theater:

Fritz Lang's Die Nibelungen (1924)(properly tinted version):
Siegfried
Kriemhild's Revenge

The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)

The Thief of Bagdad (1940)

The Tales of Hoffmann (1951) (Really, almost any Powell & Pressburger deserves to be on this list.)

Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) (Hard not to choose a Lean film, but Fonda's blue eyes are more haunting than O'Toole's.)

Apocalypse Now (1979)

Ran (1985)

Kundun (1997)

House of Flying Daggers (2004)

Life of Pi (2012)
