I liked that one too, although quoting it's a bit of a spoiler!

E. G. Robinson starred in Little Caesar as Rico.
Nice one. That led me to read the other reviews for the film. I don't understand the top one at all. Surely Rico is the same as Little Caesar, and (spoiler) it's his friend that betrays him.
Thanks, Salopian. I quite liked noncentz's review for that one.

Batty One plot point spoiler which mentions Alfred, otherwise nothing you didn't see in the trailers. Oh, for the dark knight rises of course.

E. G. Robinson starred in both Little Caesar and Key Largo, as Rico in the first and Rocco in the second.
Archie Mayo directed Petrified Forest, set in a diner taken over by gangsters.
Remember Jack Rabbit Slim's in Pulp Fiction?

Posted - 09/04/2012 : 09:45:47 It's getting late... Have you seen my mates Ma tell me when the boys get here It's seven o'clock and I want to rock Want to get a belly full of beer
So here are my notes: a) Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close: A nine-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist {Thomas Horn} searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father {Tom Hanks), who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. b) The Hunger Games: Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen {Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match c) The Lincoln Lawyer: A sleazy defense attorney {Matthew McConaughey} has a crisis of conscience when he represents a wealthy client (Ryan Phillippe) who has a foolproof plan to beat the system. d) Love Affair: Ex-football star Mike Gambril (Warren Beatty) meets Terry McKay (Annette Bening) on a flight to Sydney, which is forced to land on a small atoll. Both engaged to others, they become romantic on board the ship sent to take the passengers home. They agree to meet in New York three months later to see if the attraction is real. One shows up, the other doesn't, but they run into each other afterwards. Remake of 1957's An Affair to Remember. e) We Need To Talk About Kevin: Kevin's mother (Tilda Swinton) struggles to love her strange child, despite the increasingly vicious things he says and does as he grows up. But Kevin (Ezra Miller) is just getting started, and his final act will be beyond anything anyone imagined. AKA How to raise a spree killer. |
