4th September sounds good to me. And Central London would be my preference.

Have only just found this thread, sorry. I would be interested in coming if the event is still happening.

I can make it provided the wife gives me permission

Already got a copy but need to buy more so I am willing to pay for my copy, possibly in beer if needed.

Count me in. I'm very interested to meet you all and see what you look like. I can't help but imagine meeting biggerboat and him looking just like Roy Sheider.

See you all on the 4th. AM

Okay, after a little thought I'm feeling BB's suggestion of the NFT bar (http://www.obyto.co.uk/pubs/london/nft-bar-south-bank) is the current best bet.

It's suitably filmic and with a nice view, plus it's a short walk from Waterloo station so everyone should be able to get there without too much difficulty. There's also a decent selection of other such drinking/ eating establishments nearby if we want to move on. Oh... and there's a cinema or two there (including the IMAX) if we wanted to make a proper do of it.

(Feel free to post if anyone has any better suggestions or issues with this venue)

The current list of attendees is as follows...

Animal Mutha
Beanmimo
benj + Mrs benj
BiggerBoat
Chris C
E.L.F.
Josh the cat
[matt]
Rovark

...and the don't-count-me-out-just-yets are...

BaftaBabe
ChocolateLady
Whippersnapper

Looks like a pretty decent meet up already but any and all others are welcome to join us

Damn - you'll have to count me out . It's babybear's birthday that weekend. Sorry, folks, but I shall be there in spirit.

As much as I'd like to attend, I'm not permitted to fly. I think it has something to do with a tampered shoe...

Not really, my eye condition doesn't permit me to go by plane due to the pressure and ocean liner just ain't happening. :( I'll be there in spirit as well, and kind of hope the copy I get whenever it happens just MIGHT be signed.

I'm an apology...it's cheaper for me to buy copies of the book online than to fly to the UK to get a free one.
Have a great get-together though.

I hope to be there. Sorry, only just found the thread.

I'll bring my copy of the book in the hope of an autograph, and will probably want to buy another one or two for presents.

Am looking forward to seeing as many as possible there. Should be a great day.

I'll see what I can do. If I start saying things like "Smile you son of a bitch", don't take offence, I'll just be quoting lines from the film.

I guess it depends... since you have furthest to come of all of us (as far as I'm aware anyway) is there a too early/ too late time for you?

Personally, I'm looking forward to the bit where we all get rat-arsed and start comparing scars
