I'm assuming you mean something other than that both they and members of their family have won Oscars?
John, son of Walter; Angelica, daughter of John
Nic Cage, nephew of Francis
Jon Voight, father of Angelina
Judy Garland, mother of Liza

Close, but not specific enough. Also, Judy never won an Oscar.

Not Jolie, AFAIK, Bafta was on the right track. She just needs to pull into the station.

Actually, Judy Garland DID win ... She won a special Oscar as "the best juvenile performer of the year" for the role which originally had been intended for Shirley Temple in The Wizard of Oz.

Uhm ... Liza's dad Vincente?

Close enough. All 4 had fathers who were also Oscar winners. Coppola's dad for composing.

Sorry to take so long

but here it is:

What do directors Jim Jarmusch, Chris Columbus, and Steven Spielberg have in common?

[besides all 3 being male, human, living film directors - as opposed to directors of traffic, she clarified at the risk of further confusing badgers]

They're all film directors.

A bit easy, wasn't it?

It was the badger.

Now this is me.

They all have the same initial for their first names as they do for their last names.

Will that do, or are you going to move the goalposts again?

Well, that's not why I chose them, but since it's undeniably true ... and you're SO persistent ... you can have it!

The REAL connection, for anyone who cares - is that they were all born in Ohio. WOW!

Bloody hell, my joke answer was actually BETTER than your real one!

Anyhow, my next guess would have been that they are all named after C15th Geneoese maritime explorers (except Jim Jarmusch and Steven Spielberg).

OK. Name an actor who has played different double characters in two different films.
